Dr. Pablo Mercadal is a postdoctoral researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). He is also an assistant professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at UNC. His research focuses on the development of soft materials, such as gels and films, based on natural polymers and eutectic solvents for new technologies in the biosensing, food packaging, and adhesive industries.
In addition, he has experience in the synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles, spectroscopy, computational modeling, and optical characterization techniques. Dr. Mercadal has several scientific publications in high-impact international journals and has presented papers at national and international conferences. He has supervised a professional internship for students to obtain their degree and has received awards related to his research. Due to his expertise in materials science, Dr. Mercadal can offer technological services related to the physicochemical, morphological, thermal, rheological, and mechanical characterization of polymers, as well as the design of new technological platforms for biomedical applications.
