Prof. Dr. Miriam Cristina Strumia was our first director of the IPQA and currently serves as an advisor to the institute. She concluded her professional career as a Full Professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, National University of Córdoba (UNC), and as a Senior Researcher at CONICET, Argentina. Her primary research area is the synthesis and chemical modification of new polymeric materials and hybrid nanomaterials with specific applications in nanomedicine, biomedical materials, active and smart packaging, and electrochemical sensors. She has published over 145 papers in international scientific journals and has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences. In human resource training, she has supervised 12 doctoral theses and 3 master’s theses. She has held various university management positions, including Head of the Science, Technology, and Productive Management area at the National University of Córdoba (2016-2018), Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences (2011-2014), and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences (2008-2011).
