Gerardo Oscar Pisoni

Prof. Dr. Gerardo Oscar Pisoni is currently an Assistant Professor in the General Chemistry II department at the Department of Industrial and Applied Chemistry, and in the Numerical Methods department at the Department of Computer Science, both positions at the Faculty of Exact, Physical, and Natural Sciences, National University of Córdoba (UNC), Argentina.

He obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering from UNC (2007) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the National University of the South (2014), Bahía Blanca, Argentina. His research activities focus mainly on the development of calculation methods, algorithms, and computational tools for studying the thermodynamics of phase equilibrium in multicomponent systems, with a special orientation towards the petrochemical industry and petroleum refineries. Dr. Pisoni has experience in generating phase equilibrium diagrams in complex mixtures, thermodynamic modeling of complex systems, and thermodynamic calculations in systems involving ionic liquids. He has knowledge in modular and structured programming as well as proficiency in various programming languages.

He has also undertaken research stays at universities in Italy, Chile, and Brazil, serving as a Thermodynamics professor and as part of research projects between private companies and the University.
